IP Cameras
IP cameras use a network to connect the camera's captured images and/or videos to the user's viewing device or recording device. Users can also control the camera, such as tilting or rotating the camera. Some IP cameras also allow for one- or two-way voice communication in addition to the camera functions, and many feature IR (infrared or 'night vision') functionality. IP cameras are often used as surveillance in residential, retail, commercial and outdoor applications.
Analog
Analog cameras offer cost-effective, high-resolution indoor and outdoor cameras for surveillance. Analog cameras start with a digital camera image capture, then convert the video to analog for transmission to an analog device, such as a video monitor or recorder. Analog cameras are often housed in camera domes, and can utilize IR (infrared or 'night vision') to capture images night or day.
Hybrid
Hybrid security systems combine the functionality of IP cameras and analog CCTV (closed circuit television). These hybrid systems allow cost-effective surveillance options that can be viewed remotely over a network or Internet connection using a web browser or smart phone.
Home Automation
A home automation system integrates electrical devices in a house with each other. The techniques employed in home automation include those in building automation as well as the control of domestic activities, such as home entertainment systems, houseplant and yard watering, pet feeding, changing the ambiance "scenes" for different events such as dinners or parties. Devices may be connected through a computer network to allow control by a personal computer, and may allow remote access from the internet.
